Israeli police arrested four additional suspects Thursday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of vote-buying involving the Ra'am party and voters from the Arab community.

In a statement, police said: "Following the arrest of three suspects from southern Israel on election morning on suspicion of election bribery, and the decision to transfer the investigation to the National Fraud Investigation Unit of Lahav 433, four men were arrested this morning on suspicion of involvement in the affair. They are currently being questioned at the unit's offices."

Investigation Continues Following Election Day Arrests

The investigation began on election morning, when police arrested three suspects identified as well-known Ra'am activists. The suspects were allegedly found in possession of party-branded envelopes and cash, raising suspicions that the money was intended for distribution to voters. The arrests took place several hours before polling stations opened.

A court subsequently ordered the three suspects released on bail, while the investigation remains ongoing.

A senior police official emphasized that all allegations would be examined thoroughly. "Every complaint received by the police will be investigated to its conclusion. Every suspicion brought to our attention will be carefully and thoroughly examined, without exception," the official said.

Ra'am Rejects Allegations and Accuses Police of Political Interference

Ra'am strongly denied any involvement in electoral misconduct, accusing police of attempting to undermine the party and suppress voter turnout in the Arab community.

According to the party, police arrested several of its prominent activists from Rahat, Segev Shalom, and the village of Al-Sir two days earlier, "without any clear reason."

In an official statement, Ra'am said: "We categorically reject attempts by elements within the police to link Ra'am to any violation of electoral integrity. The activists were arrested in their homes, hours before polling stations opened, and not near polling stations or voters."

The party further alleged that the arrests were politically motivated. "These were wrongful arrests intended to undermine Ra'am and suppress voting in Arab society, as part of Minister Ben-Gvir's political use of the Israel Police," the statement continued.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police examining the suspected election bribery allegations while Ra'am maintains that its activists were unfairly targeted.
