The warning was reported Monday evening by the Emirati news outlet Erem News.
Meanwhile, Lebanese social media users reported increased drone activity over Beirut and the western Bekaa Valley. According to local reports, the unusual aerial presence has prompted speculation about possible military developments. Lebanese sources also reported two Israeli airstrikes on Aita al-Jabal in southern Lebanon earlier in the day.
Israel Reportedly Threatens Strikes on Strategic Infrastructure
According to the reports, Israel conveyed its warning to the Lebanese government through American intermediaries. A separate report from the United States indicated that Lebanon had been informed that, unlike previous operations, Israel's response would not be limited in scope if Hezbollah decided to intervene in the confrontation with Iran.
The reported warning included the possibility of strikes against major Lebanese assets and infrastructure, including Beirut's international airport. Such targets could become part of a broader Israeli military operation if Hezbollah entered the conflict.
Reports of Israeli Plans for Expanded Military Operations
The Emirati newspaper also reported that the Israel Defense Forces had prepared military plans for possible operations in Lebanon. According to the report, these plans include the potential capture of the southern Lebanese cities of Tyre, Sidon, and Nabatieh, alongside an expansion of ground operations deeper into Lebanese territory.
The reported plans also include the possibility of imposing a blockade on strategic infrastructure, including the Port of Beirut.
The reports suggest that Israel is seeking to deter Hezbollah from joining a wider confrontation involving Iran by warning Lebanon of potentially extensive military consequences. However, the reported operational plans and warnings have not been independently confirmed.
