Danny Kushmaro Reveals: "I've Been Crying Lately. We're All Human"
The veteran news anchor shares in a rare interview about the challenging moments and whom he calls after every broadcast: "It's easy. After every broadcast - a call to Mom and Dad."

In a special interview conducted as part of an educational project by the ERAN organization for schools nationwide, veteran news anchor Danny Kushmaro revealed a deeply personal and vulnerable side. In a conversation with social activist Or Levi, a window was opened into both his private and professional worlds.
When asked about handling emergencies, Kushmaro shared, “I’m not always strong, especially over the past year. I’ve found myself breaking down and shedding a tear more times than I would like to admit. In the end, we’re all human.”
Beyond the demanding world of news, Kushmaro emphasized the central role family plays in his life. When asked whom he calls first after every broadcast, he answered without hesitation, “It’s easy, my parents. After every broadcast, I call Mom and Dad.”
Reflecting on the beginning of the war, Kushmaro described the emotional toll it took on him and spoke openly against Hamas. “You hear the voices, see the images, and realize that reality has changed. There were moments when I felt I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to step away, take a deep breath, and then continue.”
