What is the ruling regarding fries or any pareve food cooked in a meat kitchen?

AA

Question

Hello:) I would like to know what the law is regarding fries or any pareve food that was cooked in a meat kitchen—in a restaurant that serves meat. Are the fries considered pareve, and can I eat dairy ice cream afterward? Or does it have the status of meat? Also, I would like to know what it means to be “in a state of being meat” or “in a state of being dairy.” How should I conduct myself regarding this, and if I need to wait, how long? Thank you very much:).

Answer

Hello and blessings

The fries are pareve.

When something is in a state of being meat, it indeed means it was cooked in a meat pot, and Ashkenazim should be stringent from the outset not to eat it together with dairy, but there is no need to wait between them at all.
