Lod

Emergency crews rescued an unconscious 5-year-old from a car in Lod and rushed him to Shamir–Assaf Harofeh Medical Center. Doctors fought to save his life but were forced to pronounce him dead. Police have opened an investigation. The meteorological service warns that another severe heat wave is on the way.

The suspect, who had previously been convicted twice on weapons and drug charges, was shot after allegedly charging at a YASAM officer with a knife. Police are still investigating the circumstances, and suspicion that this was an attempted terror attack is growing stronger.
