Central Elections Committee Chair and Supreme Court Justice Noam Sohlberg, along with acting director-general attorney דין ליבנה, held a discussion with Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and State Attorney Amit Isman. They addressed ways to strengthen enforcement against criminal violations of election laws.

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara has asked Israel’s High Court to halt implementation of the new Police Internal Investigations Department law and freeze the creation of the new unit. Knesset legal adviser Sagit Afik, by contrast, argues there is no basis for issuing interim orders.

Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara has decided to file an indictment against Yonatan Urich in the "Bild" affair. Urich is accused of passing classified information and destroying evidence, after the State Attorney's position was adopted.

Israel’s Advisory Committee on Senior Appointments approved Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman to head the Mossad. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed the appointment; Gofman is slated to take office June 2, 2026, for a five-year term. Multiple reports say committee chair Asher Grunis dissented over a past case involving teen operative Ori Elmakias; the attorney general flagged a "legal difficulty," and petitions to the High Court are expected.
