Theodor Herzl

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a ceremony bringing the remains of Theodor Herzl’s grandparents to Israel. Addressing developments between the United States and Iran, he said: “Trump is our greatest friend, but I want to make this clear: Israel’s existence is not up for negotiation.”

The remains of Shimon and Rivka Herzl, grandparents of Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern political Zionism, will be brought this week from their burial place in Belgrade. They will be laid to rest beside him on Mount Herzl in a ceremony on August 5, marking 77 years since Herzl was buried in Jerusalem.
