school trip

Following the death of a student and injuries to 24 others from unexploded ordnance on the Ramim Ridge, Education Minister Yoav Kisch is considering suspending school trips to northern Israel. While the trip had reportedly received approval, Israel's national forestry organization emphasized that warning signs banning entry were posted in the area.

An annual hiking trip for students of the ORT Maalot yeshiva high school ended in disaster after an unexploded piece of ordnance detonated in the Upper Galilee. The IDF is investigating whether one of the students picked up the device and put it in his backpack — in an area that had already been swept.
