1. Fast food: According to Dr. London, fast food is "an edible food product," but not real food. This kind of food, full of chemicals and processed fats, can cause long-term damage to cardiovascular health. While an occasional indulgence is okay, regular consumption of fast food can lead to dangerous health consequences.
2. Soft drinks: It's not just about the sugar. Dr. London refers to these beverages as “liquid death.” Sugary sodas are packed with massive amounts of sugar and various chemicals that have been linked to serious health risks such as diabetes and heart disease. Their harmful effect on the body is so severe that he recommends avoiding them as much as possible.
3. Dairy products: Vegans have known this for a while, and now Dr. London confirms that dairy isn’t as beneficial as we once thought. “We are the only mammals that continue drinking milk after infancy — and from another species,” says London, who recommends considering plant-based alternatives instead.
4. Alcohol: Despite its widespread popularity, alcohol is classified by the World Health Organization as a carcinogenic and dangerous substance. Dr. London notes that even moderate alcohol consumption damages cells in the body. His recommendation: avoid alcohol altogether for optimal health.
