(Photo: ZAKA Spokesperson's Office)After 10 days of searching at Sanz Beach in Netanya, the body of the missing 18-year-old, Avraham Yeshayahu Spiegel, a student at Yeshivat Tifrach, was identified toward evening (Sunday). The body had been located earlier today off the coast of Herzliya.
As a reminder, on Friday, 11.4.26, a report reached ZAKA’s dispatch center about an approximately 18-year-old youth missing at Sanz Beach in Netanya. Upon receiving the report, substantial forces from ZAKA’s divers unit were dispatched, together with the ZAKA Netanya team and the Missing Persons Unit. In the incident, his older brother, Yissachar Dov, 21, also drowned. Yissachar was pulled from the sea in critical condition and taken to Laniado Hospital in Netanya, where he fought for his life for several days. He passed away on Wednesday.
Responders set up a dedicated command post on the beach and, together with Israel Police, the Lahav unit and the local authority’s coastal unit, began wide-ranging searches along the shoreline and in the maritime area in an effort to locate the missing teen. After roughly ten days of intensive searches, he was located in the water, off Sidna Ali Beach in Herzliya — with no signs of life.
The body was found following a report from a sailing instructor, who noticed it during a training sail for skippers. The instructor alerted the marine police. The body was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification.
