The IDF Spokesperson said that earlier today (Thursday) the organization launched an anti-tank missile at forces operating south of the forward defensive line. The missile struck close to the troops, but no soldiers were wounded. The IDF called it a blatant violation of the cease-fire agreement.
At the same time, the IDF’s efforts to disrupt Hezbollah infrastructure in the area are ongoing. Yesterday, the IDF carried out an airstrike and killed an operative from the organization who was working at a launch site in the Sujoud area of southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, the operation was conducted to prevent a direct threat to northern communities and to stop the operative’s continued activity at the launch site.
Alongside these latest incidents, a broader pattern of violations by Hezbollah has emerged. The data indicate at least seven violations of the cease-fire since it took effect, and so far no direct Israeli response has been reported to each of the cases.
Meanwhile, the IDF Spokesperson issued a warning to residents of southern Lebanon amid continued military activity in the area. The statement said: "We reaffirm that during the period of the cease-fire, the Israel Defense Forces continue to position themselves at their posts in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah’s ongoing terrorist activities. We reiterate our warning that, out of concern for your safety and the safety of your families, and until further notice, you are asked not to move south of the displayed line of villages and their surrounding areas".
As part of the warning, the IDF Spokesperson urged residents of southern Lebanon to avoid traveling south of the line of villages and to keep away from sensitive areas, including the Litani River, Wadi al-Salhani, and the Saluki. It was also noted that residents should not return to dozens of villages in southern Lebanon.
