IDF Eliminates Hezbollah Cell in Southern Lebanon; Officer Wounded in Clash
IDF forces identified Hezbollah operatives overnight in a security zone in southern Lebanon and eliminated them. A combat officer was moderately wounded during the encounter, while military operations in the area continue.

(Photo: Eyal Margolin, Flash90)Overnight, between Friday and Shabbat, IDF forces identified several terrorists from the Hezbollah terror organization operating in the Ali Taher Ridge area of southern Lebanon, inside the security zone where military forces are active. Following the identification, the forces acted immediately against the terrorists, striking and eliminating them in order to remove the threat they posed to the soldiers.<\/p>
During the encounter, a combat officer was moderately wounded. He was quickly evacuated for medical treatment at a hospital, and his family was updated on his condition. The IDF stressed that activity in the area is continuing and that forces are continuing to operate to remove threats to the soldiers active in the region.<\/p>
The incident joins a series of operations carried out by IDF forces in recent days in southern Lebanon, as part of the operational effort to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its military capabilities. As part of this activity, troops from the 91st Division continue to locate and destroy the organization's weapons, including rockets, anti-tank missiles, explosive devices, firearms, and grenades.<\/p>
