Report: Hezbollah Deploys 'Sacrifice' Suicide Units Near the Yellow Line

Arab media point to a possible escalation on the northern front, and according to reports Hezbollah has in recent hours (Thursday) deployed units of "sacrifice" operatives near the Yellow Line. Israel's defense establishment does not rule out the possibility that this is preparation for suicide attacks against IDF forces operating on the ground.

Senior figures in the organization who spoke to regional outlets, including Al Jazeera, report growing frustration within Hezbollah's leadership and field ranks. This comes amid what they describe as a failure to halt IDF activity, alongside what they called "Lebanese capitulation to Zionist aggression" in relation to direct talks between the countries.

According to those sources, the group did not correctly assess the scope of Israel's continued operations on the ground even during the cease-fire. Attempts to block IDF forces using drones, shoulder-fired missiles, and other means did not bring a significant change, and the security operations continued despite losses suffered by the IDF in recent weeks.

At the beginning of the week, a military commander in the terror organization threatened that Hezbollah may return to old methods. In a conversation with Al Jazeera, he said: "We will use tactics from the 1980s and deploy suicide bombers to prevent the enemy from entrenching. Large groups of suicide (terrorist) bombers will be deployed in the occupied area according to prearranged plans." It was also noted that the mission of those bombers would be to act against IDF officers and soldiers in villages in southern Lebanon.

Now, sources close to the organization's leadership claim these threats are not just rhetoric, and that Hezbollah is indeed considering carrying out suicide attacks on the ground.
