President Donald Trump spoke with reporters toward the evening today (Wednesday, Israel time) and said he is not rushing the negotiations with Iran. In his words, "We’ll give it one chance, I’m not in a hurry. People think, ‘Oh, the midterm elections.’ But I’m not in a hurry. The only question is whether we finish the job in Iran or they sign a deal".

As a reminder, last night Trump said Iran has "two or three days to return to the negotiating table. Maybe they have until Friday, Shabbat, Sunday to complete a deal. A limited amount of time, because we cannot let them obtain nuclear weapons." Trump added that "Iran is begging to make a deal. We may need to give Iran another blow, not certain."

The American president was asked today about his long conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and whether Israel is pressuring him to strike Iran. Trump responded: "Bibi will do what I tell him, he’s a very good man, a wonderful man. I also think they have a president who treats him very badly." He added: "My support for Israel is at 99%, so maybe after I finish this I’ll run for prime minister in Israel."

At the same time, against the backdrop of the possibility that fighting with Iran could resume, Tehran sent threatening messages today. In a statement they released, the Revolutionary Guards wrote: "If the aggression against Iran is repeated, the war will spread beyond the region’s borders. The American-Israeli enemy is once again speaking in threats. We are people of war. See our power on the battlefield, not in empty declarations and virtual accounts."

Saudi media reported that Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan issued a statement expressing "great appreciation for the decision of U.S. President Donald Trump to give diplomacy a chance to reach an acceptable agreement that will bring the war to an end, restore security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to their status as it was before February 28, 2026, and address all points of dispute in a way that will serve the security and stability of the region."

In addition, it was reported in China that together with Russia, the two countries are ready "to provide assistance in talks between the U.S. and Iran." With the approval of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russia and China issued a joint statement announcing: "[They] view the U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran as a violation of international law and a destabilization of the region."
