At the same time, the IDF said there is no change in instructions for the home front.
Iranian Parliament National Security Committee spokesperson Ebrahim Rezaei wrote toward evening on X: "We will respond to the Zionist entity’s attack on Dahiya with a decisive and painful response. This mad dog must be punished and returned to its place. Follow the skies over the occupied territories tonight."
As previously reported, the headquarters of Iran’s unified command of the armed forces (*Khatam al-Anbiya*) and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned last week that "if Israel attacks Dahiya in Beirut, Iran will respond forcefully." The Iranians also "recommended" that residents of northern Israel evacuate their homes.
The Israeli Air Force struck the Dahiya district today, about three days after the American announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon. The Israeli strike comes after several days in which the terror organization launched rockets and drones toward communities along the confrontation line.
In Lebanon, reports said Israel updated Washington in advance about the strike. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said during a visit to Gaza today: "I approved plans to continue intensifying the blow to Hezbollah. From here, I am continuing on to hold a situational assessment on Iran."
Today’s strike in Beirut was carried out on the instructions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister ישראל כ"ץ. The two announced that "the IDF struck terrorist headquarters in Beirut’s Dahiya district, in response to Hezbollah fire toward Israeli territory."
