The IDF today (Monday) released first color footage from strikes carried out by the Israeli Air Force against air defense systems belonging to the Iranian regime in western and central Iran. According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson, the sortie was completed shortly before the footage was released, and during it, systems designed to protect Iranian airspace were attacked and destroyed.

The military said the Air Force operated against air defense systems of the Iranian terror regime as part of activity intended to reduce threats to aircraft operating in the area. The footage that was released documents the destruction of one of the systems targeted during the operation.

According to the IDF, that system stored missiles intended to strike aircraft. After the attack was carried out, secondary explosions were identified at the site, indicating that the missiles were inside the launcher at the time it was hit.

In the IDF, officials said the destruction of the systems is another layer in the effort to expand the Air Force's freedom of operation in Iranian skies. According to the military's statement, the strike on the Iranian regime's air defense arrays is intended to deepen Israel's aerial superiority in the region and enable continued operational activity against various threats.
