According to the joint statement, an attack carried out the day before yesterday killed Khader Jamazi, who headed the organization’s money-transfer infrastructure in the Strip, and his deputy, Muhammad Harazin.
Israel’s security establishment said the two played a central role in Hamas’s funding mechanism during the war and were responsible for managing and transferring large sums of money for the organization’s military wing. According to the IDF and Shin Bet statement, the two "served as central money transfer agents for the Hamas terror organization in the Gaza Strip."
Throughout the fighting, Jamazi and Harazin managed a broad system of money transfers to Hamas’s military wing, totaling tens of millions of dollars. To do this, they relied on a network of dozens of money changers operating throughout the Gaza Strip, allowing funds to continue flowing to the organization’s mechanisms.

The statement said that "through these funds, the Hamas terror organization continued paying salaries to its terrorists in order to keep advancing and carrying out terror plans against IDF forces and civilians of the State of Israel."
The IDF and Shin Bet said that Jamazi and Harazin "join a series of eliminations of terrorists responsible for the economic sphere in the Hamas terror organization." The statement added that over the past year, additional senior figures linked to the organization’s financial network were also killed, including Firas Mashharawi and Ihab Khrizim. According to the security establishment’s statement, the action against financing operatives is intended to damage Hamas’s ability to continue operating its military mechanisms and funding its activity in the Gaza Strip.
