Easy Pasta Bolognese Recipe
Serves 2–3
Ingredients
9 ounces (250 grams) pasta, such as spaghetti, penne, or your favorite variety
10.5 ounces (300 grams) ground beef, ground chicken, or a vegetarian alternative such as soy crumbles or cooked lentils
2 cups prepared tomato sauce or seasoned crushed tomatoes
Olive oil, optional
Directions
Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente.
Drain and reserve a small amount of the cooking water.
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. If desired, add a small amount of olive oil.
Add the ground meat and cook until browned and fully cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
Pour in the tomato sauce and stir well to combine.
Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the flavors to blend.
Combine and Serve
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until every strand or piece is coated with sauce.
If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
Serve hot and garnish with freshly chopped parsley or your favorite herbs.
A Quick and Satisfying Family Meal
One of the reasons Bolognese remains such a popular dish is its simplicity. With just a handful of ingredients, you can create a hearty, satisfying meal that works equally well with beef, chicken, or plant based alternatives.
Pair it with a fresh salad or a slice of crusty bread, and dinner is ready in no time.
