Ingredients

For the Patties

  • 1 apple

  • 3 carrots

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons oil

For the Sauce

  • 1 onion

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 tablespoon paprika

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Finely grate the apple and carrots, then mix them with the egg, flour, salt, and oil until well combined.

  2. Shape the mixture into patties with your hands, squeezing out any excess liquid from each patty.

  3. Fry the patties on both sides until golden brown.
Alternative: Bake them in a moderately heated oven on a greased, parchment-lined baking sheet for about 25 minutes. Turn them over and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

  4. Prepare the sauce: Finely chop the onion and sauté until softened and lightly golden.

  5. Add the honey, paprika, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  6. Add the patties to the sauce and cook for another 10 minutes, allowing them to absorb the flavors.

Serve warm as a delicious side dish or light meal.
