Some recipes don't require hours in the kitchen but still taste like something you'd order at a restaurant. This dish is one of them.
The combination of soy sauce, honey, garlic, and spices creates a rich, flavorful glaze, while the chicken thighs remain incredibly juicy and tender.
The biggest advantage of this recipe is that the marinade does most of the work. The longer the chicken sits in it, the more flavor it absorbs, resulting in a meal that's hard to stop eating. It's perfect for a family lunch, an elegant dinner, or entertaining guests, and pairs beautifully with white rice, stir-fried noodles, or steamed vegetables.
Juicy Chicken Thighs in an Asian-Inspired Marinade
Ingredients
1 kg (2.2 lbs) boneless chicken thighs
4 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons silan (date syrup)
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon sweet paprika
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, silan, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, cooking oil, and seasonings.
Add the chicken thighs and massage the marinade into the meat until every piece is well coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. For the best results, marinate for 4–6 hours.
Heat a grill pan or large skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the chicken thighs for about 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and beautifully caramelized.
Pour the remaining marinade into the pan and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, until it thickens into a glossy sauce.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Serve hot and enjoy with rice, noodles, or your favorite vegetables for a delicious restaurant-style meal at home.
