These low-carb donuts taste surprisingly close to the real thing — but without the sugar and heavy carbohydrates. Soft, tender, and lightly flavored with vanilla, they're a delicious way to enjoy Chanukah treats without feeling deprived.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (100 g) almond flour (or finely ground almonds)

  • ⅓ cup (75 g) unsalted butter, melted

  • ¼ cup (50 g) powdered sweetener

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).

  2. Place the melted butter, heavy cream, and powdered sweetener in a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth.

  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and continue mixing until fully combined. Add the almond flour and baking powder, then mix until a smooth batter forms.

  4. Transfer the batter to a well-greased nonstick donut pan or a muffin tin. Do not overfill the molds.

  5. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.

  6. Roll each donut in granulated sweetener if desired.

  7. For a glazed version, melt together:

    • 2 tablespoons butter

    • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

    • 2 tablespoons powdered sweetener

    • A few drops of vanilla extract

  8. Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled donuts.
