Iran’s PRESSTV channel, which is affiliated with the regime, claims that the death in France of Dr. Ali Ahsanian, Tehran’s “AI pioneer,” was caused by Israel. According to the channel, the Mossad was responsible for killing the scientist in the French city of Nice.

In a report today (*Motzaei Shabbat*) on Ynet, citing the Iranian channel, it was claimed that Ahsanian’s body was found and transferred for burial in his hometown of Jahrom, in Iran’s فارس Province. According to PRESSTV, his body was buried nearly six weeks after his mysterious death in Nice, France, on March 28, during the days of “Roaring Lion.” The channel added that although the cause of death is still under investigation, all the evidence points to the Mossad, “which for years has systematically assassinated young Iranian scientists.”

Ahsanian held a doctorate in electrical engineering from the Sorbonne University in Paris and had previously collaborated with Iran’s Defense Ministry during his military service from 2018 to 2020. His areas of expertise included artificial intelligence, machine learning, and next-generation wireless networks - fields that can also be used in military combat.

French police have not released a statement on the matter, but Iran’s Foreign Ministry said it is in contact with the French police through the French embassy in Tehran and the Iranian embassy in Paris.
