Sweet Cheese-Filled Doughnuts with Honey and Walnut Crumbs
A deliciously comforting treat, perfect for Chanukah, family gatherings, or a special weekend dessert

600 g (21 oz) low-fat white cheese (farmer's cheese), not soft cream cheese 3 eggs 3 tablespoons brown sugar 4 level tablespoons flour 4 tablespoons semolina 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon rum extract Zest of 1 lemon 50 g (1.8 oz) butter 1 cup finely chopped walnuts or walnut crumbs Combine all the dough ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Refrigerate for 1 hour to rest. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. With wet hands, shape the mixture into balls about the size of ping-pong balls. Carefully drop the balls of dough into the boiling water and cook for approximately 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a skillet over low heat. Add the walnut crumbs and stir gently until combined and lightly toasted. Be careful not to burn the mixture. Remove the cooked doughnuts from the water and coat them evenly in the walnut crumb mixture.Ingredients
