In a joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet in the area of the village of Yamun, in the Menashe Brigade sector, terror operative Muhammad Zaid was killed today (Wednesday) by fighters from the Duvdevan Unit. The operation was carried out as part of the security forces’ ongoing counterterror efforts throughout Judea and Samaria, and centered on an attempt to arrest Zaid, who had been considered a wanted target for an extended period.

According to a statement from the IDF Spokesperson and the Shin Bet, Zaid had recently been hiding in several homes throughout the village of Yamun in an effort to evade arrest. Security officials assessed that he had access to weapons, and he was therefore considered to pose a significant danger to forces operating in the area.

During the special operation earlier today, Duvdevan fighters arrived יחד with Shin Bet forces to carry out the arrest. But according to the security agencies’ statement, the terrorist tried to flee during the operation and posed a real threat to the forces at the scene. He was then killed there.

Security officials said that Zaid, a resident of the village of Yamun, had been involved over the years in terror activity and the trafficking of weapons. They also said that he operated as an arms dealer and transferred weapons to the terrorist who carried out a shooting attack in 2025, in which two IDF soldiers were seriously wounded.

The IDF and Shin Bet said: "IDF and Shin Bet forces continue to operate to thwart terror throughout the Judea and Samaria Division, including against arms dealers who enable the carrying out of terror attacks against citizens of the State of Israel."
