IDF forces carried out strikes overnight (between Sunday and Monday) in the buffer zone in Syria. The operation came in response to gunfire directed at an IDF post in the Tel Kudna area. No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to a Syrian report, the IDF responded with mortar fire, artillery fire, and a strike by an attack helicopter. The Syrian news agency "SANA" reported IDF strikes in the village of Abdin in the Daraa area, and said residents left their homes following the fire. It was also noted that last night, residents of the village of Abdin reportedly threw stones at an IDF patrol.

This was the second incident in the past 48 hours in the security zone in Syria. The day before yesterday, fighters from the Etzioni Brigade (6) eliminated several armed terrorists.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry issued what it described this morning as "a strongly worded statement of condemnation" against Israel over the events in the village of Abdin yesterday and overnight. The statement said that "the area was attacked with artillery shelling, which terrified civilians and constituted a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is a breach of international law. The continuation of hostile actions undermines efforts to establish security and stability, adds to the suffering of civilians in the targeted areas, and increases escalation and tension in the region".
