Hamas announced that it executed a Palestinian resident of the Gaza Strip who was accused of involvement in the killing of the head of its military wing, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, last month by the IDF and the Shin Bet. That was reported today (Thursday) in Israel Hayom.

According to the announcement, the Palestinian was accused of maintaining contact with Israeli intelligence agencies, which led to several strikes in the Strip during the war. Hamas claims that the man who was executed was responsible for several targeted killings of senior figures in the terror organizations, the latest of which was the operation that killed al-Haddad.

As previously reported, a Gazan allegedly monitored the residence where al-Haddad’s wife and daughter were living. According to Hamas sources, he kept watch on the location until al-Haddad arrived, creating the opportunity to strike him.

According to the report, Hamas’s internal security apparatus accused the Gazan of carrying out a mission from Israel to surveil the residence, and then to track a suspicious vehicle in which al-Haddad was traveling before he was attacked. In “Al-Akhbar,” it was claimed that Hamas’s policing apparatus located the Gazan after the killing, arrested him, and forced him to confess to involvement in the operation. Hamas is also holding several other detainees suspected of assisting Israel, and they may be executed soon.
