Bahraini security officials announced yesterday evening (Sunday) that indictments have been filed against 19 defendants accused of establishing a terror cell linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guards. The trial is scheduled to begin next week.

Authorities said 11 of the defendants are being held in custody until the conclusion of the proceedings, while the remaining eight are considered fugitives and are currently being sought.

According to the indictment, the group is accused of plotting operations under Iranian direction to destabilize Bahrain's government and undermine national unity.

The defendants are also accused of planning activities aimed at changing Bahrain's constitutional system and stripping it of its authority while promoting the ideology of Wilayat al-Faqih ("Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist"), a central principle of Iran's ruling system.

In addition, prosecutors allege that the suspects raised funds to support their activities and incited acts of terrorism, rioting, and sabotage. Searches of their homes reportedly uncovered large sums of cash, along with books and documents related to the alleged operation.
