The IDF Spokesperson announced this morning (Thursday) that Israeli forces killed Omar Ahmed Abu Qasem, a battalion sniper commander in Hamas's military wing, in an airstrike carried out yesterday in central Gaza.

According to the IDF, Abu Qasem took part in attacks against Israeli forces throughout the war. In recent weeks, he had also been involved in efforts to rebuild Hamas's military capabilities and advance additional terror plans targeting IDF troops, in violation of the ceasefire agreement.

The IDF continues to carry out targeted strikes against Hamas operatives across the Gaza Strip. As previously reported, the military announced yesterday that two Hamas Nukhba commanders were killed in a separate strike in northern Gaza.
