Trump Warns Iran: "Every Time Iran Kills an American Soldier, It Will Pay Dearly"

President Donald Trump issued a threatening message this evening (Monday, Israel time) to Iran, following the deaths in Jordan of two U.S. Army soldiers in the Iranian attack on the base in eastern Jordan.

In a statement posted on his social media platform, Trump wrote: "Every time Iran kills an American soldier, it will pay many times over for that killing! This order has been delivered to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Daniel Caine, and every leader in the military."

The Pentagon today released the names of the victims of the attack carried out by Iran in Jordan: Sgt. Tyler James Pihan, 25, of Hawaii, and Cpl. Isabel Gonzalez, 19, of Texas. According to reports in the American media, there was another fatality in the same attack. In addition, there is a report of an American soldier killed in an Iranian attack on a base in Iraq.

At the same time, reports in the U.S. said the American Defense Department withheld from the public information about three attacks carried out by Iran against U.S. military forces in Jordan last week. A source told "The New York Times" that those attacks led to dozens of military personnel being wounded and damage to several helicopters, but their existence was not made known to the public.

Military officials explained the blackout policy as stemming from "the need for operational security and to prevent Iran from obtaining information that would allow it to better target its ballistic missiles and unmanned aircraft at bases in the Middle East."

It was also reported that the U.S. military diverted seven commercial vessels and disabled one vessel in order to prevent ships from leaving Iranian ports or entering them.
