Netanyahu Set to Fly to the U.S., Aiming to Meet Trump and Attend Memorial for Sen. Graham

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to depart for a visit to the U.S. next Monday. That was reported today (Tuesday) by News 14. The day after arriving in Washington, Netanyahu will attend the memorial ceremony for pro-Israel Senator Lindsey Graham. The senator is scheduled to be laid to rest next Wednesday in the South Carolina city where he grew up.

According to the report, Netanyahu is planning to attend the memorial ceremony in Washington. He said goodbye to Graham upon his passing and emphasized that Graham was a man who understood that Israel’s security and America’s security are inseparable, and that he dedicated his life to defending America, strengthening the alliance, and standing firm for the free world. "Israel has lost one of its greatest friends. America has lost a great patriot. I have lost a beloved friend," the prime minister eulogized the senator.

As previously reported, officials in Netanyahu’s office had already estimated last week that he intended to fly to the U.S. The prime minister is interested in holding a diplomatic meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, but one has not yet been finalized. Efforts are being made to schedule the meeting for Tuesday, ahead of Graham’s memorial ceremony.
