The billboard shows al-Hayya holding a pistol, alongside Yahya Sinwar and Ismail Haniyeh, who were eliminated by Israel. Written on the poster in Hebrew: "From Sinwar’s generation, the new leader in the field," and in Arabic: "The nightmare of the occupiers," with the Temple Mount and the city of Jerusalem in the background.
Al-Hayya, who defeated Khaled Mashaal in the vote for the leadership role, is considered very close to the Iranians. From this, the message of the billboard is clear: continued Iranian support for Hamas. The newly elected chairman of the political bureau gave his first interview last night and said: "We will continue on the same path until the liberation of al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine. We are continuing in the path of our founders, our leaders, and our martyrs."
According to a report by Al Jazeera, al-Hayya emphasized that at the top of Hamas’s priorities is achieving an end to the war and an Israeli withdrawal from the Strip. He called on Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey to increase pressure on Israel in order to advance the implementation of the agreements.
