IDF Intercepts Two Drones Near the Jordan Border

An IDF spokesperson confirmed Monday afternoon that the IDF intercepted two unmanned aircraft identified near the Jordan border area. The aircraft did not cross into Israeli territory, and the source of the launch is under investigation. No alerts were activated, in accordance with policy.

Army Radio reported that the drones near the Jordan border were intercepted using a fighter jet and electronic warfare. At this stage, no group has claimed responsibility for launching the hostile aircraft toward eastern Israel. The Jordanian army later announced that it intercepted two drones in its territory and that they were launched from Iran.

As a reminder, about a week ago, the Air Force intercepted a drone identified near the border with Syria. At that time as well, the IDF spokesperson said the source of the launch was under investigation. So far, the IDF has not provided an update on the findings.

In addition, last Wednesday, residents of Eilat reported hearing explosions after missiles were launched from Iran toward Aqaba in Jordan. The Jordanian army said missiles launched at the country were identified, and most of them were intercepted. The IDF reported that it assisted in the interception to prevent impacts in Israeli territory.
