Hezbollah Command Post Destroyed Just 300 Meters From UNIFIL Site in Southern Lebanon

The IDF Spokesperson said Wednesday that during an operation in the village of Haddatha, in the security zone in southern Lebanon, forces from Battalion 601 and Yahalom destroyed an underground passageway used as a Hezbollah command post.

The passageway was approximately 55 meters long and contained three rooms for personnel to stay in. It was built beneath a factory producing construction materials, about 300 meters from a UNIFIL building. In addition, an underground shaft containing dozens of weapons was located in the area of the passageway.

The IDF also confirmed that an IDF engineering vehicle was struck overnight in the Israeli security zone in southern Lebanon, in the Ali Taher Ridge area north of Beaufort. There were no injuries in the incident.

According to IDF assessments, the vehicle was struck by a Hezbollah explosive drone. The IDF is investigating the incident, in which Hezbollah attacked and struck an IDF vehicle for the first time since the ceasefire in Lebanon.

As previously reported, dozens of Hezbollah terrorists are trapped beneath the Ali Taher Ridge in a strategic compound belonging to the terrorist organization. The IDF has surrounded the compound for many weeks, but has not yet entered it or begun destroying the infrastructure, in light of direct talks between Israel and Lebanon mediated by the United States.
