Report: Hamas May Announce Full Disarmament

Political sources in the United States and Israel believe Hamas is close to announcing that it will disarm, Israel Hayom reported today (Thursday). According to those sources, this is a highly detailed framework for the complete dismantling of weapons and tunnels. According to the report, one source described the development as Hamas' surrender. <\/p>

However, News 13 reported that "Hamas commits to transferring the weapons gradually to a Palestinian entity over several years. Hamas does not commit to transferring the heavy weapons."<\/p>

The Gaza Peace Council, established by U.S. President Donald Trump, said: "The discussions are ongoing and making progress. The roadmap for implementing the agreement includes the dismantling of all weapons, heavy and light, without exception, alongside the destruction of tunnels, weapons depots, and weapons-production facilities. At the end of the process, Hamas will have no governing role in Gaza, neither openly nor behind the scenes, and the committee for administering Gaza will hold full authority in accordance with the principle of one authority, one law, and one weapon. Every step by one side enables the next step by the other side."<\/p>

News 12 analyst Amit Segal reported that "this is an agreement between the mediators and Hamas. The agreement includes all weapons — those of the police, light and heavy weapons, tunnels, weapons depots, and production sites. At the end of the process, only the Palestinian committee will store, possess, or control weapons in the Gaza Strip. There will be no withdrawal from the original Yellow Line without full demilitarization."<\/span><\/p>
