(Photo: Social media)British host Piers Morgan interviewed Hamas spokesman Razi Hamed on his program last night (Monday), confronting him over his claims that the terrorist organization does not harm civilians or commit war crimes. The exchange quickly turned into a heated clash after Morgan confronted the terrorist with the events of the October 7 attack.
At the start of the interview, the Hamas spokesman addressed the agreement that was signed regarding the future of the Gaza Strip. According to him, “I think this is an exceptional deal resulting from the circumstances at hand, because of the war in Gaza, because of the oppression in Gaza, because the world is watching Gaza and doing nothing. So given that, I think we did our best to save our people, to save our civilians in Gaza from displacement and mass killing.” He added: “I am not very satisfied with the deal because I think we are looking for something better to end the occupation.”
Later in the interview, Morgan brought up Hamed’s remarks following the October 7 attack: “After October 7, one of the worst terrorist attacks in modern times, you appeared on camera and said, ‘We will do this again and again and again,’ and made it clear that you are committed to the destruction of Israel. Why should Israelis trust someone who said that?” In response, he said: “Hamas, as a liberation organization, never commits crimes, never kills civilians. We are constantly trying to liberate our homeland.”
His remarks drew an immediate response from Morgan, who did not hide his objection to the claim: “Well, that is complete nonsense, Mr. Hamed. Sorry, but I have to stop you there. When you say that you do not commit crimes and do not kill innocent civilians—we all saw what happened on October 7, 2023.”
He continued: “Three thousand members of your organization, Hamas, stormed communities across the Israeli border and committed a series of heinous crimes in which you massacred innocent civilians throughout Israel. You then kidnapped more than 250 of them, including Holocaust survivors and a baby. So the idea that you did not commit crimes is ridiculous.”
Even after those remarks, Hamed continued to deny that it was intentional policy on the part of the organization: “I say 100%—we never commit crimes against civilians. Maybe some mistake happened, but that is not Hamas policy. It is not something done intentionally.”
Morgan responded sharply once again and cut off the spokesman: “Those were mistakes? You shot innocent people dead. Again, sorry, Mr. Hamed. I’m sorry. I can’t let you get away with saying that. Hamas deliberately massacred people at a music festival. Hundreds of young people were enjoying a music festival. That is a war crime. Those were mistakes? You burned people alive in their homes!”
