Michigan Museum to Screen Film Framing Hamas Oct. 7 Attack as ‘Liberation Struggle’

The Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, will screen a documentary portraying Hamas’s Oct. 7 terror attack as a “struggle for liberation from colonialism.” Fox News reported this on Sunday.

The network reported that the museum receives hundreds of thousands of dollars in support from U.S. taxpayer funds. The screening is also scheduled for Oct. 10, just one day before the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in New York.

The network noted that Dearborn is sometimes called “the capital of the Arab-Muslim population in the United States.”

The film, titled “Seeds for Liberation,” does not describe the events of Oct. 7 as a terror attack, but rather as part of a “decades-long Palestinian struggle,” carried out by an “anti-imperialist and anti-colonial liberation movement.”

Fox News noted that the screening is not an isolated case for the museum, which also features permanent exhibitions and installations all devoted to sharp and outspoken criticism of the State of Israel. Among other things, it displays artworks accusing Israel of operating an “apartheid” regime, illegal occupation, and deliberate, knowing harm to Palestinian civilians.
