A Slight Cooldown Is Coming, but Heat Stress Will Persist

Tuesday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy in the morning, becoming pleasant later in the day. Despite a slight drop in temperatures, especially in the hills and inland areas, conditions will remain warmer than usual for this time of year. High humidity will continue along the coast, creating a muggy feel, while heavy to extreme heat stress will still prevail in many parts of the country—though there will be some relief compared with recent days.

At night, skies will be clear to partly cloudy, with no significant change in conditions. Heat stress will gradually ease as temperatures fall.

The moderating trend will continue tomorrow. According to the forecast, temperatures will drop slightly again, mainly in the hills and inland areas, but will still remain somewhat above seasonal averages. It will also remain muggy along the coast, while heat stress across most of the country will stay heavy to extreme.

On Thursday, another slight drop in temperatures is expected, bringing them back to levels typical for the season. Heat stress is also expected to ease after several days of warmer-than-usual weather. On Friday, skies will remain partly cloudy to clear, with no real change expected in temperatures. In most areas, they will remain normal for the season.

Forecast temperatures for today and tonight: Jerusalem is expected to reach 32°C during the day and 20°C at night, while Tel Aviv will range from 31°C during the day to 25°C at night. Haifa is expected to reach 31°C during the day and 24°C at night, and Ashdod 32°C during the day and 25°C at night.In northern Israel, temperatures in Safed will reach 35°C during the day and 22°C at night; in Katzrin, 38°C and 22°C respectively; in Tiberias, 38°C and 23°C; and in Nazareth, 34°C during the day and 23°C at night. Afula is expected to reach 36°C during the day and 23°C at night, while Beit She'an will remain especially hot, with 39°C during the day and 26°C at night.

In central Israel, Lod is expected to reach 33°C during the day and 24°C at night. In the south, temperatures in Be'er Sheva will reach 35°C during the day and 23°C at night, in Mitzpe Ramon 35°C and 23°C respectively, and Ein Gedi will experience particularly heavy heat stress, with 40°C during the day and 29°C at night.
