IDF Destroys Hezbollah Underground Shaft, Finds Weapons Cache in Southern Lebanon
Forces from Brigade 55 and the Yahalom Unit operated in the security area of southern Lebanon, destroying an underground shaft and locating a large cache of Hezbollah weapons.

Forces from Brigade Combat Team 55, operating alongside soldiers from the Yahalom Unit under the command of Division 91, are continuing operations in the security area of southern Lebanon as part of the effort to remove threats to the State of Israel. During activity carried out over the past week, they located and destroyed an underground shaft that Hezbollah, the terrorist organization, had used to store weapons.
According to an IDF Spokesperson announcement, the operation focused on locating and destroying terrorist infrastructure and preventing Hezbollah from maintaining military capabilities in the area. During searches conducted by the forces, they found an underground shaft that, according to the IDF, served as a weapons storage site for the organization. After the on-the-ground operation was completed, the shaft was destroyed.
Alongside the destruction of the underground infrastructure, the soldiers located a wide range of weapons in the area. The findings included Kalashnikov rifles, anti-tank missiles and anti-tank launchers, artillery weapons, and RPG rockets. All of the weapons were found during the operation carried out by forces from Brigade Combat Team 55 and the Yahalom Unit as part of the operation in the security area of southern Lebanon.
The IDF emphasized that the activity is part of the ongoing effort to remove threats along the northern front and strike Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure. The IDF Spokesperson announcement stated that the forces are continuing to operate in the area in accordance with their operational missions, locating weapons and infrastructure used by the organization.
