Russia’s Next Target? Intelligence Warns of Possible Attacks on U.K. Infrastructure

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has been warned by intelligence officials of possible Russian retaliation against the government, against the backdrop of its ongoing support for Ukraine. According to a report in the British newspaper the "Daily Mail," Russia has marked Britain as a target.

A source who spoke with the "Daily Mail" said, "Russia will want to send a message through actions rather than words, and that could take the form of drone attacks or arson. There are Russian sleeper cells in the country capable of carrying this out." The source also said that Moscow is testing British security systems on a daily basis.

As previously reported, Britain’s new prime minister recently declared that his country would strengthen the military alliance between Britain and Ukraine. The British military will also assist Kyiv with missile technology and artificial intelligence for the battlefield. In addition, according to Western reports, the British struck a Russian tanker from the shadow fleet about a month ago, which transports oil from Russia while enforcing sanctions.

Today’s report stated that the warning to the British prime minister came amid an emergency visit to Moscow yesterday by CIA Director John Ratcliffe, who met at the Kremlin.

Ratcliffe delivered a stern warning to the Kremlin not to escalate the conflict, whether through the use of nuclear weapons or by harming Ukraine’s Western allies.
