IDF: Hezbollah’s Underground Network at Ali Taher Ridge Has Been Cleared

The IDF Spokesperson announced Thursday evening that the IDF has completed clearing Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure in the Ali Taher Ridge, within the security zone in southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF, troops from the 36th Division have recently been operating to clear two underground routes in the ridge area. The forces established operational control of the area above and below ground and cleared it of terrorists; some were killed, while others fled the area.

However, operations to neutralize the underground infrastructure that has been cleared of terrorists are still ongoing. Once the operation is complete, the IDF will prepare for a renewed defensive deployment in accordance with the situational assessment. The IDF said that the terrorists who were inside the infrastructure carried out terrorist plans against the State of Israel and IDF forces. As a result of the operations on the routes in recent weeks, the ability to carry out terrorist plans against Israeli civilians and IDF forces from these routes has been neutralized.

The underground infrastructure included command centers, weapons rooms, generator rooms, living quarters, showers, and a kitchen, enabling the terrorists to manage combat operations and remain there for extended periods. It is a strategic infrastructure built over two decades, funded and planned by the Iranian terrorist regime.
