The New York Times reported on Shabbat, citing a U.S. official, that Israel warned German authorities of the possibility of Iran-directed attempts to attack bases in the country. The warning concerns German military bases used by the U.S. military.

The bases considered at risk include Ramstein Air Base and Spangdahlem Air Base.

According to the report, the warning was issued following intelligence received in mid-September about the possibility of Iranian-backed attacks against American facilities in Europe, including RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom.

As a reminder, on September 23, Iranian-affiliated media outlets published remarks by a former senior official in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who explicitly mentioned Ramstein Air Base as one of the facilities used by the United States in its war against Iran.
