Israel’s National Security Council (NSC) issued a warning today (Tuesday) ahead of the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre. According to the warning, there is an elevated risk of attempted attacks against Israelis and Jews abroad, alongside demonstrations and public disturbances. “Terrorist organizations, led by Iran and its proxies, Hamas and global jihad elements, view this date as a significant milestone,” the statement said.

The NSC is calling on the public to avoid posting advance information on social media about travel abroad, not to upload content indicating service in the security forces, and to stay away from demonstrations and gatherings. In an emergency, travelers should first contact local security forces.

The public is also asked to avoid traveling to destinations under Level 4 travel warnings: Jordan, Qatar, Somaliland and Egypt, including the Sinai Peninsula. In Level 3 destinations, travelers should limit speaking Hebrew in crowded places. For inquiries to the terrorism travel-warning hotline only, staffed 24 hours a day: 02-6667444.

As previously reported, yesterday the Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism published a report ahead of the October 7 anniversary. The report tracks planned pro-Palestinian protest and demonstration events around the world. According to the data, 262 pro-Palestinian protest and solidarity events are expected to take place in 37 countries.

Many of the events are expected to take place in the coming days. The United States has the highest number of identified events, with 45, followed by Spain with 40, Australia with 21, the United Kingdom with 19 and Italy with 16. Germany and Canada each have 14 events, while France has 10 and the Netherlands has eight.

About one-third of all identified events, 87 in total, are classified as medium- or high-risk. High-risk locations are spread across several countries: Canada, Greece, Italy, the United States and Australia. Additional locations include Barcelona, Bogotá, Paris, Istanbul, Bangkok, Santiago, London, Berlin and Amsterdam.

The report also indicates that 45 events are expected to take place near an embassy, consulate or another property associated with the State of Israel.
