Trump Warns Europe: Sanctions on Israel Will Bring Consequences

President Donald Trump delivered a blunt message to European leaders, warning against sanctions on Israel or restrictions targeting Judea and Samaria. “The response will be immediate and painful,” he said. More than 75 retired senior U.S. military officials have also signed a letter stating that Israel did not commit genocide in Gaza.

Britain’s “The Telegraph” reported today (Wednesday) that U.S. President Donald Trump delivered an unequivocal message to European leaders: “Anyone who imposes sanctions on Israel or restrictions on Judea and Samaria will suffer.”

According to the report, “sources close to talks between the United States and European countries said that Trump made it clear in direct and unequivocal terms that any economic sanctions against Israel, and any restrictions imposed on Judea and Samaria, would also lead to heavy American sanctions in response.”

Meanwhile, the White House issued a statement this evening: “Today, three years after the horrific October 7 attacks, we remember the lives of innocent people taken by Hamas terrorists. The Trump administration remains committed to confronting terrorism and bringing hostages home. America will always stand as a beacon of freedom and defend its allies and values around the world.”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio added: “Exactly three years ago, Hamas terrorists tortured, abused, and murdered 1,200 innocent civilians in Israel. Those murdered included men, women, and children, including dozens of Americans. We will never forget this act of barbarity against our ally.”

American media also reported that more than 75 retired senior American generals, admirals, and military legal experts signed a new open letter rejecting claims that Israel committed genocide in Gaza. The signatories include individuals who commanded U.S. military forces in combat while applying the laws of war.

The letter states: “Based on the facts and the relevant legal standard, Israel’s conduct in its war against Hamas does not constitute genocide. The deaths of civilians during combat, tragic as they may be, are not by themselves enough to establish a finding of genocidal intent. The standards by which military conduct is judged matter precisely because war is tragic and imperfect.”

“The precedent set today regarding Israel will shape the conditions under which American forces fight tomorrow. Protecting civilians and preserving our nation’s ability to defend itself require us to defend the truth when the laws of war are distorted to advance false accusations of genocide.”
