The Wall Street Journal reported that the crown prince is staying in heavily fortified palaces equipped with bunkers and is accompanied by a carefully selected security detail. The heightened precautions are intended to protect him amid escalating fighting between Saudi Arabia and the Free Yemen Army on one side and the Houthis on the other.
Over the past week, the Houthis have intensified their attacks on the Saudi capital, Riyadh, raising concerns that government institutions could be targeted next.
Meanwhile, Middle East Eye reported that Turkey is preparing to increase its military support for Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks in response to the deteriorating security situation.
The reported plans include deploying Turkish military personnel and defensive equipment to the kingdom. Turkey has also signed a defense pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
