Iran is accelerating preparations for another military confrontation with the United States, operating on the assumption that Washington may resume strikes after the November 3 midterm elections. According to a report published this morning (Tuesday) in The Wall Street Journal, the preparations include rebuilding military infrastructure, fortifying nuclear facilities, and training civilians for war.

Satellite imagery analyzed by the Institute for Science and International Security reveals the construction of earthen berms and defensive positions around the nuclear sites at Natanz and Mount Kolang Gaz La, intended to make it more difficult for ground forces to gain access. Additional activity was identified at the Min-Zada'ai facility near Tehran, which has been linked to nuclear warhead development. At the same time, Iran is rebuilding missile and drone production facilities and replenishing its ammunition stockpiles.

Alongside its military buildup, Tehran is issuing warnings to countries across the region. Senior Iranian officials have threatened ground invasions of neighboring countries and attacks on oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. Mohsen Rezaee, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, has also warned of strikes against the United Arab Emirates, data centers, and regional internet cables.

Iran's civilian sector is also preparing for a possible conflict. Airports, seaports, and power stations have been equipped with shelters and emergency supplies. In Tehran, courses teaching the use of shoulder-fired missiles and sniper rifles have been advertised, while the Revolutionary Guards have trained all-female commando units in guerrilla warfare and drone operations.

Meanwhile, the United States is considering reinforcing its defense systems and ammunition supplies, along with deploying the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt and additional Marine forces. Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump ruled out launching a strike before the midterm elections, scheduled for November 3.

Yesterday, Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social: "We are having productive discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran." He added that Iran is facing severe economic and military difficulties and emphasized that American pressure would continue.
