(Photo: Chaim Goldberg, Flash90)Against the backdrop of international criticism and boycotts of Israel, Elbit Systems continues to expand its activity in the European defense market. The company announced today (Monday) that it had won a $235 million contract to supply precision rockets and rocket launchers to a European country whose name was not disclosed.
The agreement was signed as part of a deal between the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the defense ministry of the purchasing country, and deliveries are expected to be spread over three years. The deal includes PULS rocket artillery systems, EXTRA-MR guided rockets, additional rocket artillery platforms and an integrated logistical support package.
EXTRA-MR rockets are designed for precision strikes on targets at medium ranges, up to a distance of 80 kilometers (about 50 miles). They are adapted for launch using Elbit’s PULS systems, and can be integrated with command, control, communications and computing systems (C4I), allowing them to be incorporated into existing combat arrays.
Elbit Systems President and CEO Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis commented on the contract: “Winning this contract further strengthens Elbit Systems’ global standing as a world leader in the field of rocket artillery, and reflects the growing international demand for our advanced capabilities in rockets and launchers. Our PULS systems and precision rocket solutions are recognized as leaders in their field and have been selected by a growing number of customers around the world, including countries in Europe and NATO members.”
The new contract adds to the growth trend in Israeli defense exports, which has continued despite the sanctions, boycotts and anti-Israel atmosphere that have intensified since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War. In 2025, Israeli arms exports jumped by 30%, and the year saw an all-time record in revenues for Israeli defense companies from exports of combat systems.
