Gaza flotilla

Italy’s prosecutor general announced that an investigation has been opened into Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, following a complaint filed by several activists from the Gaza flotilla who were detained at sea and brought to Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu watched in real time from the Navy command bunker as Shayetet 3 forces took control of the flotilla sailing from Turkey toward Gaza, telling the troops: "You’re stopping a malicious plan meant to breach the isolation we are imposing on Hamas terrorists."

Hundreds of kilometers from Israel’s shores, IDF forces began taking control of the Turkish "Sumud" flotilla headed to Gaza. Before the operation, Israel’s Foreign Ministry warned the vessels: "Change course and turn back." Activists who are detained will be taken to a "floating prison" and from there transferred to Ashdod.

About 20 vessels are reportedly gathering in Marmaris, raising Israeli concern that a new Gaza flotilla could lead to a less peaceful naval confrontation

After the Israeli Navy seized 21 boats near Crete, the IDF released about 170 activists at a Greek port. Two flotilla leaders were brought to Israel to face trial as the military braces for another convoy leaving Turkey.
