Ahmad Hasan (IDF)The IDF and Israel Security Agency announced Wednesday that they eliminated Ahmad Hasan, head of the sniper array of the Beit Hanoun Battalion in Hamas, in an airstrike carried out Monday in the Al-Furqan neighborhood of northern Gaza.
The military said the strike followed what it described as a “blatant violation of the agreement” earlier this week and was conducted after Hasan’s identity was verified.
According to the IDF, Hasan was responsible for multiple deadly attacks against Israeli forces during fighting in 2025 and played a central role in operations that killed at least seven soldiers.
The military said Hasan led the July 7, 2025 terror outline in northern Gaza in which Benyamin Asulin, Noam Aharon Musgadian, Meir Shimon Amar, Moshe Nissim Frech, and Moshe Shmuel Noll were killed. Two additional soldiers were severely wounded in that incident.
Security officials also linked Hasan to an April 19, 2025 attack in which Galeb Sliman al-Nasasra was killed and a tracker, a female combat officer, and a combat medic were severely wounded. In a separate incident on April 24, 2025, Assaf Kafri was killed and two additional soldiers were severely wounded.
“In response to the blatant violation of the agreement this week (Monday), the IDF eliminated the terrorist Ahmad Hasan,” the military said in a statement.
“Hasan served as the head of the sniper array of the Beit Hanoun Battalion in Hamas and was recently identified advancing additional terror plots against IDF forces.”
The IDF said the elimination constitutes an “important closing of a circle” for the families of the fallen. Officials confirmed that notification of Hasan’s killing was delivered to the bereaved families.
The strike was carried out from the air and also resulted in the deaths of two additional Hamas terrorists. A third Hamas terrorist was severely wounded, according to the military.
The IDF said it will continue to operate against any attempt by Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip to carry out attacks against Israeli forces and the State of Israel.
