Israel’s Foreign Minister to Global Envoys: Expel Iranian Ambassadors
In a virtual briefing with about 100 diplomats in Israel, Sa’ar urged governments to send Iranian envoys home, criticized Lebanon’s handling of Hezbollah, and warned that Iran’s missile range threatens Europe.

The Foreign Ministry said that during the briefing Sa'ar called on countries to expel Iran's ambassadors, as Lebanon's Foreign Ministry announced yesterday its decision to do so this week. It should be noted that six countries this week designated the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, joining about 40 countries that have done so in recent years. The six countries are: Iceland, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Liechtenstein.
In today's briefing, Sa'ar told the foreign ambassadors: "Unfortunately, the Lebanese government is not taking real steps against Hezbollah. Not by degrading their launch capabilities and disarming them, and not by hitting their financial infrastructure. Representatives of Hezbollah still sit in Lebanon's government. They must be dismissed immediately."
"We are operating in southern Lebanon to prevent a ground incursion into our communities that are in the border area. In addition, we are countering attempts to fire anti-tank missiles at our communities and dismantling terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon, in private homes and underground—something the Lebanese army was supposed to do in accordance with the commitments of the Lebanese government but did not."
Minister Sa'ar also said: "The attack on the Diego Garcia base shows that the regime lied about the range of Iranian missiles, including false statements by Iran's foreign minister during the war. This further shows that the range of the Iranian regime's missiles endangers not only us and the countries of the region but all of Europe as well."
