Uproar in Poland on Holocaust Remembrance Day: An extreme Polish member of parliament sparked outrage with an anti-Israel speech, during which he displayed an Israeli flag where the Star of David had been replaced with a swastika. The act, carried out on Polish soil—a country where millions of Jews were murdered—drew sharp reactions in Israel.

Israeli advocacy activist Yosef Haddad posted a blistering response, writing: "On Holocaust Remembrance Day, an extreme and antisemitic Polish member of parliament named Konrad Berkowicz delivered an anti-Israel speech in parliament and raised the Israeli flag with a swastika in place of the Star of David".

Haddad added sharp criticism of the very comparison between Israel and Nazi Germany: "This despicable man compared Israel to the Nazis on Polish soil soaked with the blood of millions of Jews. This insolent man is in fact himself a supporter of the Nazis! Disgrace and shame".

According to him, this was not just a political provocation but incitement. Haddad called on the government to act on the diplomatic front and take clear steps with Poland: "The State of Israel should summon the Polish ambassador for a tough conversation and demand that the Polish parliament take severe action against him. This vile propaganda crosses every line, desecrates the memory of the Holocaust, and fuels antisemitism and grave incitement against us!".
